CLINTON, N.Y. – The Ithaca College golf team finished up its fall season at the Hamilton College Invitational on October 5-6 and the Bombers placed ninth out of 14 programs with a two-round total of 658 (+82) at the Rome Country Club. Ithaca shot 331 on Saturday and 327 on Sunday.
Amherst and Wellesley tied for first with 622, while Hamilton was a stroke behind in third and Babson and Williams tied for fourth with 624.
The highlight of the weekend for IC occurred during Sunday's round as
Helena Winterberg carded an eagle – the fourth in program history – on the par-5 7th, which was her second hole of the day. Winterberg went on to shoot 74 (+2) on Sunday to move up seven spots and place fourth overall after a 78 (+6) on Saturday. During Saturday's round, she fired two birdies.
Annelise Stencel placed 44th overall with 168 (+24) as she shot rounds of 85 (+13) and 83 (+11). Stencel birdies two holes over the weekend.
Rheanna DeCrow and
Madison Coffey tied for 45th with 169 (+25) with identical rounds on each day of 84 and 85. DeCrow fired three birdies, while Coffey shot two birdies.
Annika Michel tied for 61st with 180 (+36) as she shot 91 and 89. Michel did card three birdies during the tournament.
