SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's rowing team found a level of success this weekend seeing multiple podium finishes this weekend at the Head of the Fish. It marked the final event if of the fall schedule.
The Bombers had three boats in the Collegiate 4+. The "A" entry started first overall and had a solid piece in blustery conditions. The "B" entry was able to make a couple passes during the race as well as the "C" entry. The boats finished third, sixth and 12
th respectively out of 24 entries, with the "B" first and "C" second among respective crews. The third-place crew consisted of
Max Detzer,
Bryce Williston,
Riley Maynard,
Rhys Pellaton and
Caroline Grass.
There were 11 entries in the Collegiate Frosh/Novice 8+ with the Bombers starting fifth. The crew got into a solid rhythm early on and was able to pass two other teams during the race, finishing first. Rowing for the Bombers was

The varsity v8+ started 3
rd in this event with 13 entries. Conditions improved by this time and the crew was able to establish an aggressive pace early on. Things got a little congested in the last quarter of the race as the boat caught up to the event that started before them, but the coxswain did a good to get a clean line to the finish. In the end the boat finished 2
nd in a close finish to Hamilton and ahead of Skidmore in third. The IC crew consisted of

With only 7 entries the Bombers had two boats in the Collegiate Second Varsity 8+, the 2V and 3V. Both boats had some passing to get in and were able to navigate the course to allow the crews to show their full potential. The 2V finished 1
st and 3V 4
th. Comparing to the event right before the 2V would have finished 5
th in the V8 among collegiate entries. That Bomber boat consisted of

"We had this race circled on the calendar since the beginning of the fall season. The goal was to show not only our top end speed but the complete depth of our program. That shows with all boats in the top half of their events and finishing ahead of our Liberty League competitors."
