ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College gymnastics team will begin its 2024 season this weekend as the Bombers travel to SUNY Brockport for a dual on January 13 at 2 p.m. Ithaca has nine regular season meets on its schedule, along with the NCGA East Regional Championship and the NCGA National Championship.
Rick Suddaby, now in his 39th season as the head coach of the program, has assembled a team of 21 gymnasts. The Bombers welcome back two-time All-American
Skye Cohen, 2023 All-American
Grace Murray and 2022 All-American
Jillian Freyman, who returns after an injury from last season.
Cohen was third nationally in the all-around during her first year with the program and finished eighth in the all-around (36.725) last year. Murray placed third on the floor (9.800) at the 2023 NCGA Championship and Freyman was sixth on beam (9.775) in 2022.

Abby Chesshire,
Coral Cotteleer,
Corey Foster,
Cassidy Gallivan,
Kaylie Goodwin,
Emily Kobusky,
Nicole Lonski and
Caitlin Pellegrino.
Bailey was in the bars rotation all season in 2023 and posted a season-best 9.450. Chesshire stepped into the floor rotation halfway through the year and scored over 9.400 in all seven routines. Cotteleer competed in exhibitions last year, while Foster was on the beam and floor through the first half of the year.
Gallivan posted four scores over 9.300 on vault in 2023, while Goodwin was an all-around competitor for most of her first season. Kobusky was impressive all year on beam and scored 9.825, while Lonski set a school record on bars last year at 9.825. Pellegrino was a consistent performer for the Bombers on floor and beam all year with season-bests of 9.725 on floor and 9.725 on beam.

In 2023, Ithaca finished sixth at the NCGA Championship and set a school record on beam at the Harriet Marranca Invitational with a score of 48.825.
Following the season-opening meet at Brockport this Saturday, the Bombers will return to South Hill to host Ursinus on January 21 for their first home meet of the year. Six days later, IC heads to West Chester for a quad meet with Brockport and Cortland.
IC welcomes Springfield to Ben Light Gymnasium on February 4 and will remain in the area for the next three weeks as the Bombers head to Cornell on February 11, Cortland on February 14, and then host the Marranca Invitational on February 18 and Cortland on February 25.
The Bombers conclude their regular season at Springfield on March 3 and then host the NCGA East Regional on March 9, which will include six other teams – Brockport, Cortland, Rhode Island College, Springfield, Utica and Ursinus.
The season wraps up with the NCGA Championship on March 25 at Ursinus in Collegeville, Pa.
