ITHACA, N.Y. – The nationally ranked No. 25 Ithaca College women's lacrosse team will open the Liberty League Tournament at home on Tuesday, May 2 at 4 p.m. against Skidmore College in the first round at Higgins Stadium.
This year, the Liberty League expanded its women's lacrosse tournament to seven teams, so only the No. 1 seed, which is William Smith, receives a bye into the semifinal round.
The Bombers are the No. 2 seed in the tournament, while Skidmore is the seventh seed. These two teams just met in the regular season finale on April 29 as Ithaca came away with a 20-6 victory.
No. 3 St. Lawrence will play No. 6 Vassar, while the No. 4-5 matchup is between Union and RPI.
If victorious, the Bombers will host either St. Lawrence or Vassar and William Smith will get the winner of Union and RPI. The semifinal contests will take place on Friday afternoon. Semifinal winners will advance to the championship game on Sunday.
