GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Ithaca College women's swimming & diving team earned Second Team All-American honors in the 200-yard freestyle relay during the second day of the 2023 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
Jane Pfeufer,
Abigail Ignagni,
Sonia Mlakar and
Emily VanderSleen each earned Second Team All-American status as they finished seventh in the consolation final and 15
th overall in the 200-yard freestyle relay. They ended up in 14
th place after the morning preliminaries with a time of 1:34.95 and in the evening finals session they put together a time of 1:35.07 to cement their All-American status.
Also competing on Tuesday was Mlakar in the 100-yard butterfly as she finished 39
th in the event with a recorded time of 57.06.
The men's program nearly saw the quartet of
Ben Young,
Michael Paulos,
Matthew Mitros and
James Collishaw qualify for the evenings finals but they only finished the prelims in 21
st overall as they swam a time of 1:23.39.
The Ithaca College divers will be back in action on Friday competing on the 1-meter boards.
