ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College swimming & diving program hosted the first day of the 2023 Northeast/South NCAA Diving Regionals on Friday as the Bombers had eight women competing in the 3-meter event and a pair of men competed in the 1-meter diving competition.
The day began with the women competing on the 3-meter and headlining the day for the Bombers was having a pair of top-3 finishers. Following up on her outstanding performance at the Liberty League Championships last weekend,
Abby Marraccino took home second-place by totaling an 11 dive total finals score of 457.40. Finishing just behind her was
Karalyn Pawcio who totaled a final score of 455.20.
Collecting a top-5 finish was
Rachel Lange who totaled 448.80.
Eliza Salus finished ninth (406.60),
Angela Burke (399.65) was 10
th,
Audrey Scott (392.60) was 12
th, Janell Slesser (387.65) was 14
th and rounding out the Ithaca finishers was
Natalie Soloway who came in 20
th place with a score of 359.75.
The evening session featured the men's 1-meter where the top IC finisher was
Kian Long. The first year totaled a finals score of 416.80, which was good for a 13
th place finish. The winner of the event was Trent Makowiec from SUNY Geneseo who totaled 550.85.
The male divers will wrap up the regional competition tomorrow with the 3-meter board and the women will also compete tomorrow, but on the 1-meter board. Competition resumes at 12 p.m.
