Track & Field Takes Part in UR Alumni Invitational

RESULTS

ROCHESTER, N.Y. –
The Ithaca College men's and women's track & field teams competed at the University of Rochester on Saturday in a scoring meet. The IC women finished fourth with 65 points, while the men were fifth with 63 points.

On the women's side, Meghan Matheny won the pole vault with a mark of 3.71 meters, which moved up her to 17th in Division III. Sara Altonen finished third at 3.51 meters and Jamie Rossig secured fifth at 3.36 meters.

Ariyahna Bernard was the runner-up in the shot put at 12.50 meters, fifth in the hammer throw at 46.99 meters and sixth in the discus with a heave of 36.31 meters. Bernard also entered the javelin and took eighth at 27.02 meters. Liana Shames placed fourth in the hammer with a mark of 47.50 meters.

Lauren Lobdell took third in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:20.24, while Emily Johnson was fifth in a time of 2:25.97.

Charly Slusser cleared 1.55 meters in the high jump to come in third.

Luca Pecora claimed fourth in the 400-meter hurdles as she finished in 1:07.69 and Madison Martinez was seventh in 1:11.02.

Julia Tomanovich came in eighth in the 1500-meter run as she crossed the finish in 4:59.25.

For the men, Dom Mikula placed first in the pole vault with a mark of 4.87 meters. IC also claimed third-to-sixth in the event as Brendan Sheehan finished third at 4.27 meters, Shaun Herlihy also cleared 4.27 meters to come in fourth, Matt Weil was fifth at 4.12 meters and Callum Howald came in sixth at 4.12 meters.

Kevin Danaher was the runner-up in the shot put at 15.42 meters and in the discus at 45.80 meters.

Luke Tobia placed third in the hammer throw with a mark of 54.17 meters and was seventh in the shot put at 14.07 meters.

Benjamin Tiber was a fourth place runner in the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:13.88. Spence Whitmore measured out 12.89 meters in the triple jump to finish fifth overall.

The 4x400-meter relay of Christopher Licata, Conor Ryan, Drew Taylor and Nicholas Reyes placed seventh in a time of 3:43.64.

Up next for IC is the Liberty League Championships at Vassar on May 6-7.
