RESULTS
SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Ithaca College men's and women's track & field programs got their outdoor seasons underway over the weekend as IC traveled to Susquehanna University to compete in the Jim Taylor Outdoor Invitational.
MEN
Luke Tobia won the hammer throw with a top mark of 54.81 meters (179' 10"), which was just three inches off his personal best and was more than nine feet further than the runner-up.
Nathaniel Oczkowski was the top runner in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 53.91 seconds.
Dom Mikula finished first in the pole vault at 4.95 meters (16' 2.75").
Kevin Danaher set a new school record in the shot put with a mark of 15.74 meters (51' 7.75"), breaking the 37-year-old mark of 15.38 meters (50' 5.5") set by
Jim Nichols in 1985.
Danaher also placed seventh in the hammer at 48.15 meters (157' 11"), while
Justin Showstead was eighth at 47.35 meters (155' 4"). Showstead also took fifth in the shot put with a mark of 14.16 meters (46' 5.5"). The duo also entered the discus and placed sixth and seventh, respectively, with marks of 40.36 meters (132' 5") and 39.43 meters (129' 4"). Showstead marked 53.07 meters (174' 1") in the javelin to finish in fourth.
Danny Jagoe clocked a time of 32:55.67 in the 10,000-meter run to finish third overall, while
Timothy Cook came in sixth at 33:08.23 and
Ryan Medeiros was seventh in a time of 33:10.68.

Tyler Scerbo had a personal best in the hammer at 37.28 meters (122' 4").
Brendan Sheehan was eighth in the pole vault at 4.40 meters (14' 5.25").
WOMEN
IC's 4x100-meter relay team of
Logan Bruce,
Katelyn Hutchison,
Emily McGrath and
Tia Jones claimed the top spot with a time of 49.53 seconds, which was more than a second faster than the runner-up team (50.99).
Jones also ran in the 200-meter dash and took first in a time of 25.06 seconds, while Bruce also competed in the 100-meter hurdles and finished second overall at 14.72 seconds.
Sara Altonen won the pole vault at 3.80 meters (12' 5.5"), while
Martha Kemp-Neilson was fourth at 3.50 meters (11' 5.75") and
Jamie Rossig came in sixth at 3.20 meters (10' 6").
Ava Fowler was a runner-up in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:28.47, while
Charly Slusser was second in the high jump at 1.61 meters (5' 3.25").
Liana Shames took third in the hammer with a heave of 46.63 meters (153') and
Ariyahna Bernard came in sixth at 43.25 meters (141' 10").
Hannah Fichter was a third place performer in the steeplechase with a time of 12:44.13, while
Luca Pecora claimed fourth in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:09.49.
The Bombers also ran in the 4x400-meter relay with two teams. Bruce, Byrd,
Katharine Downey and
Carly Gross were third in 4:18.76, while Hutchison, Jones,
Emily Hammond and
Lauren Lobdell placed fifth in 4:20.40.
Moriah Byrd was a seventh place finisher in the shot put at 11.05 meters (36' 3"), while Bernard finished eighth at 11.01 meters (36' 1.5").
IC will compete at Geneseo and Muhlenberg next Saturday, April 2.
