ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's swimming & diving team wrapped up the 11
th Annual Bomber Invitational on Sunday as they were crowned champions of the event besting nine other schools. Ithaca racked up 1,641 total team points as they finished in front of Hamilton College who totaled 1,445.
In the first race of the day, the 1,650 freestyle,
Erin Kiley gritted it for Ithaca and finished fourth overall with a recorded time of 18:12.69. The Bombers had two finish in the top-5 of the 100-yard freestyle.
Emily VanderSleen swam a season-best time of 52.88, which was good for second and she was followed by
Jane Pfeufer who completed the event at 53.30 for third place.
First year
Sonia Mlakar continued to impress as she won the 200-yard backstroke in record-breaking fashion defeating Vassar's Bella Rippon. Mlakar not only swam a season-best time, but she broke the program record with a time of 2:01.40.
Katie Champagne scored a fourth-place finish in the event with her time of 2:11.21.
Abigail Ignagni swam to a fifth-place finish (2:29.87) in the 200-yard breaststroke as she just bested out teammate
Jenna Molnar who was sixth with a time of 2:29.88. The Bombers won the final relay of the Bomber Invite taking home first in the 400-yard relay.

Emily VanderSleen bested the foursome from Hamilton College with a combined time of 3:30.03.
The Bombers now break for the semester and return to action on Sunday, January 8 when they will host Hamilton College for a dual in the Kelsey Partridge Bird Natatorium.
