ITHACA, N.Y. – On Sunday, the Ithaca College swimming and diving programs held the 11
th Annual Dick Comanzo Diving Invitational at the Kelsey Partridge Bird Natatorium in the Athletics and Events Center.
The day consisted of 11 dives on each board, starting with the women's 3-meter, followed by the one-meter and vice versa for the men competing on Sunday. The Bombers were joined by Le Moyne, Hartwick, SUNY Cortland and SUNY Oneonta.
It was an impressive afternoon for
Ava Lowell who swept both the 1-meter and 3-meter events, while hitting the NCAA qualifying scores. Lowell easily surpassed the NCAA standard by putting together a total score of 475.55. The NCAA qualifying standard of 410 was also surpassed by
Karalyn Pawcio (452.60),
Abby Marraccino (441.55), and
Rachel Lange (412.55) who finished second, third and fourth respectively in the invite.
The NCAA qualifying standard of 395 for 11 dives was this time surpassed by five IC divers beginning with event winner
Ava Lowell who totaled 464.40. Â
Karalyn Pawcio finished second with a 455.55,
Leah Levin totaled 448.75 for a third-place finish and
Abby Marraccino finished fourth with a finals score of 422.20. The final IC competitor to hit the mark was fifth-place finisher
Rachel Lange (398.45).
Zack Kalinowski finished fourth in the 1-meter and fifth on the 3-meter, putting together a 278.70 on the 1-meter board and then a 285.15 in the 3-meter event he totaled 285.15.
The Bombers are back in action next weekend when they host Union College on Saturday afternoon. It is the final dual meet of the season for IC.
