MORNING SWIM RESULTS | DIVING RESULTS | EVENING SWIM RESULTS
ITHACA, N.Y. – With the day split into three sessions: swimming at 10 a.m., diving at 1 p.m. and swimming again at 6 p.m. the Ithaca College women's swimming & diving program had solid performances across the board on Saturday as they currently sit in second place as a team after the second day of the 10
th Annual Bomber Invitational. Ithaca has racked up 927.5 points and SUNY Geneseo sit in first place with a commanding lead of 1278 points.
Swimming- Morning Session
- The team of Jane Pfeufer, Katie Krom, Abigail Ignagni and Emily VanderSleen started the day off with a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay, swimming to a time of 1:38.74. SUNY Geneseo's "A" Team won the field winning their respective heat with a recorded time of 1:37.42.
- Junior Jenna Molnar was the top finisher for the Bombers in the 400-yard IM, taking sixth place with a season-best time of 4:46.25. Emily VanderSleen had an outstanding performance in the 100-yard butterfly as she put together a third-place finish touching the final wall in 58.36. Alise Hale of SUNY Geneseo won the event in 57.12.
- The Bombers had a pair of top-10 finishers in the 200-yard freestyle as that was the final individual race of the morning. Morgan Hoffman-Smith finished the race ninth with a season-best performance of 1:57.50 and right behind her in 10th place was Katie Champagne who finished the event in 1:57.70.
- IC's "A" Team of Katie Champagne, Abigail Ignagni, Emily VanderSleen and Morgan Hoffman-Smith teamed for the fifth-place finish in the 400 medley relay. The foursome finished the event in 4:02.27 as SUNy Geneseo's "A" Team won with a time of 3:55.20.
Diving- Afternoon Session
- In the second and final day of diving, the Bombers finished atop the leaderboard with a trio of Bombers turning in impressive performances on the one-meter board. Karalyn Pawcio beat out Ava Lowell for the first-place finish with a score of 489.10, hitting the NCAA qualifying standard of 410. Lowell also hit that mark with her combined 11 dives scoring a 459.40.
- Junior Eliana Wallock finished the event in third totaling 453.35 points.
Swimming- Evening Session
- The first event of the evening session was the 200-yard butterfly where the top finisher for IC was Kiersten Gravuer who finished 19th with a time of 2:22.55. The Bombers saw a fourth-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke with Katie Champagne recording a time of 59.13.
- Abigail Ignagni produced an 11th place finish at 1:09.91 in the 100-yard breaststroke. The final event of the second day of competition was the 800-yard freestyle relay where the Bombers finished in third. Champagne, Josephine Holman, Erin Kiley and Morgan Hoffman-Smith teamed up in the race and finished with a time of 7:47.05.
The Bombers are back in action tomorrow for the final day of competition of the 10
th Annual Bomber Invitational. Swimming is slated to resume at 9 a.m. with the 1,650 freestyle. That event will be followed by the 100-yard IM, 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard backstroke, 200-yard breaststroke and 400-yard freestyle relay.
