GENESEO, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's cross country team competed in the NCAA Division III Niagara Regional on Saturday, November 13 hosted by SUNY Geneseo at the Warplane Museum and finished fourth overall out of 22 teams with 132 points. IC will find out if it receives a bid to the upcoming Division III Championship sometime Sunday. Along with that, individual runners unattached to team qualifiers will be announced tomorrow.
Geneseo won the team championship with 28 points as all five scoring runners finished within the top eight of the race. Rochester took second at 122 points and Hamilton finished third with 127 points on the 8K course.
Individually, Cortland's Ryan Cory was the top runner with a time of 25:27.7 among 158 competitors. The top 35 finishers in the race earn all-region honors.
For the Bombers,
Benjamin Tiber placed fifth overall in a time of 25:37.1, while
Danny Jagoe followed in ninth at 25:38.4.
Patrick Bierach was IC's third all-region runner in the meet as he finished 19th overall with a time of 25:59.3.
Timothy Cook was the next Bomber to complete the course in 26:38.9, which was good for 41st overall.
James Hughes rounded out the top five runners with a 59th place finish (58th in scoring) as he clocked in at 27:05.7.
Alex Whatley posted a time of 27:18.1 to come in 62nd and
Ryan Medeiros was 81st in a time of 27:48.9.
