ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's swimming and diving team opened up the season with three wins over Fredonia, Brockport and Buffalo State. The Bombers topped Fredonia 251.00-43.00, Brockport 232.00-67.00 and Buffalo State 254.00-41.00.

IC opened up the day with a top-two finishes in the 200 medley relay.

The team of
Julia Young,
Ashley Warren,
Jesse Ford and
Paige Landers claimed the top spot with a time of 1:53.40.
Katie Krom,
Jenna Molnar,
Alex Estanislau ad Emily Vandersleen finished in second place with a time of 1:56.69.

The Bombers also started the individual races off strong, as they finished one and two in the 1,000 freestyle.

First-year
Josephine Holman won the field in by more than 11 seconds, finishing in 11:16.30. Fellow first-year
Emily Shorb took second place with a time of 11:27.78.
Cody Conte also earned a top-five finishing, racing to a time of 11:42.77.

Ithaca swept the top three spots in the 200 freestyle, led by junior
Morgan Hoffman-Smith who won in 2:01.35.
Maura Beuttel took second place with a time of 2:06.32 while Alison Branc claimed third in 2:06.36. Vandersleen took fifth place with a time of 2:07.62.

First-year
Jane Pfeufer finished first in the 50 backstroke with a time of 28.25 to start off her career on South Hill. Young and Landers tied for second place with times of 29.37 while
Olivia Rubino rounded out the top six with a time of 31.46.

Ashley Warren and
Gabrielle Humphrey went one and two in the 50 breaststroke. Warren was the top finisher with a time of 33.56 while Humphrey took second in 33.65.
Karolina Baranowski took fourth with a time of 34.63.

Sophomore
Jesse Ford started out strong with a win in the 100 butterfly, racing to a time of 1:01.31. Fellow sophomore
Olivia Schlackman took second in 1:03.20
Kaitlyn Scott finished fourth with a time of 1:03.94 and Estanislau raced to a time of 1:04.52 for sixth place.

Pfeufer did it again in the 50 freestyle, winning the field in 24.83. Vandersleen finished in second place with a time of 25.13 while
Anna Rubino took fourth in 26.61.

Krom won the first individual race of her career in the 100 freestyle, racing to a time of 56.27. Landers was not far behind, taking second in 56.73 while Ford finished in third place with a time of 57.39.

Pfeufer made it a three-peat in the 100 backstroke, winning the field in 1:00.64. Hoffman-Smith took second in 1:02.48 while Young was the third-place finished with a time of 1:03.36.
Anna Rubino took fifth with a time of 1:05.93.

Warren won her second race of the day in the 100 breaststroke, racing to a time of 1:11.82. Scott took second place in 1:14.03 while Humphrey finished third in 1:14.18. Molnar took fifth after swimming to a time of 1:16.76.

Holman then won her second race of the day, claiming the top spot in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:30.07. Schlackman took second with a time of 5:35.57 while Branch finished fourth in 5:37.52.

Continuing the trend, Ford went on to win her second event of the day in the 50 butterfly, racing to a time of 27.33. Vandersleen was right behind her, taking second in 27.37.

In the 100 IM, Warren was the second Bomber of the day to win three races, claiming victory in 1:05.37.
Angelina Domena was the third-place finisher with a time of 1:07.00 while Molnar rounded out the top six with a time of 1:08.02.

The Bombers closed out the swimming portion of the day with second, third and fourth places in the 200 freestyle relay.

The team of Young,
Anna Rubino,
Olivia Rubino and
Margaret Fox claimed second with a time of 1:48.77, just .28 seconds behind first-place Brockport.

Conte, Beuttel,
Tori Eastham and Holman finished third with a time of 1:49.80 while Baranowski,
Emilee Murray, Scott and Molnar finished fourth in 1:50.35.

In diving action, first-year
Eliana Wallock won her first event on South Hill, claiming the 1-meter with a score of 246.50. Fellow first-year
Rachel Lange also had a strong showing, claiming third place with a score of 223.40.

Lowell went on to win the 3-meter dive, scoring 285.85 points. Wallock finished in second place with a score of 256.60 while Lange took fourth with a 213.05 points.

Ithaca is back in action next Saturday, October 26 with a meet at Liberty League rival RPI.
