CANTON, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's soccer team battled to its second-straight 0-0 draw on Saturday afternoon at No. 22 St. Lawrence.

The Bombers are now 6-0-3 on the season with a 0-0-2 mark in the Liberty League while St. Lawrence sits a 5-1-2 overall and 2-0-1 in conference play.

"Our players should be very pleased with their effort today," said Head Coach
Kyle Dezotell. "St. Lawrence is arguably the toughest place in the Liberty League to gain a result and we deserved our hard-earned point today."

The game was evenly matched from the jump, with control going back-and-forth.

Ithaca registered the first two shots of the game, both from
Jack Monnes.
Â
Monnes' first shot in the fourth minute was blocked by a St. Lawrence defender before his second sailed high.
Â
In the 18
th minute of play, St. Lawrence put a ball on frame, testing goalkeeper
Max Lichtenstein, but the sophomore came up with the save to send things the other way.

From there, Ithaca made an offensive push, resulting in first-year
Thomas Pierce putting a shot on frame, but St. Lawrence goalkeeper Mike Smith was also there to make the save.

Nate Schoen's shot in the 30
th minute sailed wide before a shot from
Justinian Michaels was high in the 35
th minute.

St. Lawrence's Charlton Kelly closed out the first half with the final shot, a header, in the 40
th minute, which was too wide.

The Bombers registered two shots in the opening minutes of the game, but it was not until the 61
st and 63
rd minutes that the shots were on goal.

In the 61
st minute, senior
Nate Mansfield's shot was saved by Smith, before
Tom Dillmann placed a free kick on goal, but Smith punched it out of the box to keep IC off the board and send the action the other way.

Following Smith's save, St. Lawrence's Brendan McNamee sent a shot toward goal where Lichtenstein was waiting to make the save.

In the final 27 minutes of regulation, the Bombers recorded four more shots, but none were on goal.

IC's defense then made several plays in the box in the 84
th and 85
th minutes, coming up with four defensive blocks in a row.

In the first overtime period, St. Lawrence's Tapshak Augustine recorded the first shot, which went wide.
Â
Dillmann had Ithaca's lone shot of the period, in the 93
rd minute, but it went wide.

St. Lawrence recorded a corner kick in the 96
th minute which resulted in a Stephen Dorney shot, which was too high, ending the period still in a 0-0 draw.

In the final ten minutes of play, both teams took two shots, none of which were on goal.

Both Mansfield's shot in the 105
th minute and Pierce's shot in 106
th minute were over the goal, while both of the Saints' goals were wide.

Statistically, St. Lawrence narrowly outshot the Bombers 19-16 and had just one more corner kick.

Lichtenstein made two saves on the day for IC while Smith had three for the Saints.

"It was an excellent college soccer game by two quality teams," added Dezotell. "We look forward to getting back to training to prepare for Hobart on Wednesday.

The Bombers kick off at Hobart on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. before heading to Bard on Saturday at 2 p.m.
