ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College softball team defeated Manhattanville, 2-0, on Saturday afternoon to advance to the NCAA Regional final game on Sunday.

The Bombers earned their 30
th win of the season with the victory, improving to 30-9.

The game remained scoreless until the fourth inning when Ithaca broke the deadlock to go up 1-0 on the Valiants.

It looked as though one of the teams would break through sooner, as both teams left multiple runners stranded in the second and third innings.

In the bottom of the second, Manhattanville's Dolores Diemicke led off with a single to left field before Sam Jedrey drew a walk. The Bombers' forced two ground outs to end the inning and leave the runners in place.

In similar fashion, IC also left two runners on the bags in the top of the third inning. Colleran hit a two-out single to shortstop before Laccona sent a single to right field to put a runner in scoring position. Manhattanville forced a pop up to end the inning and keep the game scoreless.

In the top of the fourth, when junior
Alex Wright led off with a single to second base before moving forward on a
Hannah Anderson sacrifice bunt.
Abby Shields sent a double down the left field line to bring home Wright and give IC the edge.

After three quick Manhattanville outs in the bottom of the fourth, IC struck again to go up 2-0.

Colleran started things off with a double to left center which
Gabby Laccona followed with a single up the middle. Colleran went on to score on a Brown ground out, push IC's advantage to 2-0.

The Bombers nearly scored again in the top of the seventh inning, but left the bases loaded to end the inning. Colleran reached base on a dropped ball in right before stealing second. Laccona then singled to third base and both runners moved forward on a
Vanessa Brown ground out to second.

The game proved to be a pitchers dual between both
Haley Congdon and Manhattanville's Alycia Feeney.

Congdon pitched a complete game with just one hit, no runs scored and seven strike outs. Feeney also pitched a full game, scattering eight hits, allowing two runs and striking out six.

Ithaca is back in action tomorrow at 12 p.m. against the winner of today's third game between Manhattanville and the winner of Bay Path and Ramapo.
