ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – First-year

Â
With the win, Ithaca improves to 7-1-3 on the season and 1-1-2 in the Liberty League after picking up its first conference win.
Â
Scott scored both of his goals in the first half, starting with a score at the 30:19 mark.
Â
After taking a through pass, Scott dribbled to the center around defenders and blasted a shot into the lower left corner from 20 yards out.
Â
Ithaca maintained momentum, leading to the Bombers' second goal at 39:47.
Â
Scott blasted the ball into the lower right corner this time, from 15 yards out, putting IC up 2-0 with just over five minutes left in the first half.
Â
"We had some excellent performances from some of our younger players and a few of our leaders which helped us secure an important road victory," said Head Coach
Kyle Dezotell.
Â
The Bombers started their offensive push right from the jump, getting off the first shot of the game just 57 seconds in.
Jack Monnes' attempt, however, went high.
Â
At the 10:02 mark, Monnes put the first shot of the game on goal, forcing goalkeeper Logan Leppo to make his first save of the game.
Â
Following two shots from Bard, which were high and wide, respectively, the Bombers scored their first goal of the game.
Â
Just over one minute after the Bombers put a goal of the board,
Tom Dillmann tested Leppo again, but he came up with the save.
Â
The Bombers registered two shots in the final three minutes of play. A Monnes' shot in the 43
rd minute was high before Leppo made the play on a Dillmann ball with just 11 seconds left in the half.
Â
Ithaca wasted no time in the second half, putting a shot on goal less than two minutes in. Following a Bard yellow card, Dillmann sent a free kick in, forcing Leppo to make the play for his third save of the game.
Â
Ithaca continued to pressure the Raptors' defenders throughout the remainder of the game.
Â
A
Nate Mansfield header went high in the 50
th minute before
Nate Schoen put a ball on frame in the 59
th minute, which was saved by Leppo.
Â
Following a corner kick in the 62
nd minute, IC recorded back-to-back shots from Dillmann and Jon Kyriakidis. Leppo came up with the save both times.
Â
Ithaca goalkeeper
Tyler Lewin was tested for the first time in the 63
rd minute, making the save on a Naka O'Connor ball.
Â
The Bombers, once again, kept up the pressure as the clock ticked down.
Â
Monnes' shot in the 68
th minute and Scott's in the 72
nd were both saved by Leppo.
Â
Lewin registered his second save in the 73
rd minute on a shot from Sid Subramani.
Â
After two more shots that were not on frame, Bard pushed through one final attempted with 56 seconds left. Alex Meci's shot, however, was stopped by Lewin to preserve the Bombers' shutout.
Â
Statistically, Ithaca outshot Bard by a 2:1 ratio (22-11) and registered five more corners than the Raptors.
Â
In his first collegiate start in the net, Lewin recorded three saves to earn the shutout.
Â
"This was an excellent time for us to grab three important Liberty League points. Bard made it difficult for us as every Liberty League opponent does," said Dezotell. "We look forward to coming home to Ithaca for most of October."
Â
The Bombers are back in action on Tuesday when they host Alfred University at 4 p.m. at Higgins Stadium. It is the final non-conference game of IC's slate, which concludes with five-straight Liberty League matches.
