SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - The Ithaca College women's swimming and diving team defeated Union Saturday afternoon by a score of 173-127 at Alumni Gym Pool. Â
The Bombers took the top spot in the first event of the day, as the team of
Kylie Bangs,
Meredith Wells,
Christine Zulkosky and
Lauren Cox finished the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1:54.52.
Individually, Wells went on to capture one more first place finish, pacing the field with a time of 2:36.24 in the 200-yard breaststroke, while
Miranda Wingfield earned a top spot with a finishing time of 11:04.34 in the 1000-yard freestyle.Â
Sam Reilly and
Grace Ayer also added to the team score with a victory each on the afternoon. Reilly captured the 100-yard breaststroke and Ayer touched first during the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 1:12.04 and 2:08.62, respectively. Â
Lake Duffy experienced a pair of solo wins throughout the meet, finishing first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.30 and earning the top spot in the 100-yard freestyle with a finishing time of 55.00.Â
Nickie Griesemer swept both diving events for the Bombers, earning a first place finish in the 1-meter (284.70) and the 3-meter dive (315.22).Â
Ithaca is back in action on Feb. 14, as the Bombers host the Ithaca Invitational.
