Buffalo, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's lacrosse team (3-3) suffered a 13-12 double-overtime loss at Buffalo State on Wednesday afternoon.

Senior Nicole Borisenok netted a game-tying goal with seven seconds lingering in the first overtime to force a second extra period, but the Bengals tallied just 36 seconds into the final stanza to claim its third consecutive victory.

In a game that featured nine ties, action was deadlocked 6-6 at the end of the first period, 10-10 at the end of regulation and 12-12 after the first six-minute overtime stanza.

Junior Tracy Rivas had a squad-best four goals, while Borisenok chipped in a hat trick and two assists. Borisenok's performance helped her move up Ithaca's career lists. She sits sixth with 181 points, sixth with 138 goals and seventh with 43 assists.

Junior Kaitlyn Hoffay added a pair of scores and an assist, while classmate Nikki Dahl scored once and dished out two assists. Junior Kim Armbruster and senior Racquel Lividini had one goal and one assist apiece.

Rivas won five draw controls and Dahl four. Armbruster had a game-high five ground balls.

Junior Jess Worthman suffered the loss in goal. She made three saves for the Bombers.

Buffalo State jumped out to a 3-1 lead before back-to-back Bomber scores tied up the game. The teams thrice exchanged goals for a 6-6 stalemate at the half.

The squads swapped scores to open the latter half, but two Bengal goals awarded the host a 9-7 gap. Rivas and Dahl answered before Lividini went unassisted in giving the Bombers their first lead of the game with 9:38 remaining in the second. Buffalo State scored once down the stretch to send the match to overtime.

A pair of Bengal overtime goals were broken up by Rivas' fourth score. Borisenok capitalized on a Hoffay feed to force a second overtime with seven ticks lingering.

The Bengals won the draw control to open the second OT period and marched downfield to find the back of the net for the win.

Ithaca held a 29-23 advantage in shots and a 19-13 edge in ground balls. The Bombers won 15 draw controls to the Bengals' 14.

The Bombers last double overtime game was a 9-8 victory over Hartwick on April 23, 2006.

The Bombers next host 14th-ranked Stevens Institute of Technology on Saturday, March 31 at 3 p.m. to open Empire 8 play.
