Bomber Women's Swimming & Diving Team Beats William Smith

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Ithaca women's swimming & diving team (4-0) outscored visiting William Smith (2-1) by a 149-88 margin in a dual meet Wednesday night at the Athletic & Events Center Aquatics Pavilion. Ithaca finished first in 12 of the 13 events, although the Bombers raced in exhibition in the final two events of the meet.

Ithaca started the meet with a win in the 200-yard medley relay as Megan Buisman, Carly Jones, Cali DeSanto and Lyndsay Isaksen won in 1:57.15. Jones also won the 200 free (2:01.09) and the 100-yard freestyle in 55.98 seconds. Buisman was victorious in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:18.40 and the 500-yard freestyle in 5:28.04.

Elizabeth Gawrys placed first in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:08.58) and the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:38.12. Korie Fackler placed first in the diving events. She won 1-meter with a score of 251.10 and the 3-meter event with a score of 253.65.

Megan Zart won the 50 free in 26.35 seconds and Emily Hoskinson won the 200-yard backstroke in 2:21.59.

Ithaca's 200-yard freestyle relay of Mariel Kunnapas, Tania Sequeira, Hoskinson and Michelle Heidgerken touched first in a time of 1:45.69.

The Bombers return to action Nov. 17 in a quad meet at Hamilton with Hartwick and Geneseo.
