ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca women's lacrosse team (10-5) collected its second 10-win season in as many years with a solid 13-5 non-conference victory over visiting Rochester (2-11) on Tuesday afternoon, despite a 1:15 delay in play due to severe weather. The third-seeded Bombers will next travel to Stevens Institute of Technology on Saturday, May 7 to face second-seeded Nazareth in the Empire 8 Championship Tournament Semifinals at 2:30 p.m.

Ithaca junior Nicole Borisenok (Albany Academy for Girls/Watervliet) rattled off three straight scores helping Ithaca to a 4-0 advantage just minutes into the game. The squads twice exchanged scores for a 6-2 Ithaca lead at the half. The Bombers opened the second scoring five of the six goals netted over 15 minutes of play to take an 11-3 lead. Rochester answered with a pair of their own before Ithaca iced the game with two scores for a 13-5 final.

The Bombers, who outshot the Yellowjackets, 27-17, had four multiple-goal scorers in the 4 p.m. contest that concluded at 6:45 p.m. Ithaca also won 12 of 20 draw controls, while the teams each collected 28 ground balls.

Borisenok and sophomore Tracy Rivas (East Meadow/East Meadow) each found the back of the net three times to lead Ithaca. Senior Katie Hurley (Honeoye Falls-Lima/Honeoye Falls) and junior Racquel Lividini (Mamaroneck/Mamaroneck) both tallied twice.

Sophomore Kim Armbruster (Montville/Boonton, N.J.) collected a career-best six ground balls, while junior Siobhan Sullivan (Franklin/Franklin, Mass.) won a career-high five draws and Rivas added three.

Sophomore Jess Worthman (Hauppauge/Commack) recorded the win in goal having made seven stops for the Bombers.

After Borisenok gave the Bombers a 3-0 edge, Rivas went unassisted to go ahead 4-0. Rochester brought the game back within three before senior Ali DeCirce (Binghamton/Binghamton) struck at 13:13 to reinstate the four-goal gap. The Yellowjackets again answered, but it was Hurley who closed out the first half with a free-position goal for a 6-2 Ithaca advantage.

Hurley went unassisted to open the second frame. Rivas backed Hurley's score with a goal at 24:50 for an 8-2 lead. Rochester managed a goal to snap what would have been five consecutive Bomber scores. Sophomore Kaitlyn Hoffay (Ithaca/Ithaca) capitalized on a Lividini feed before Lividini twice took the ball to goal herself.

The Yellowjackets held the Bombers scoreless for seven minutes and netted two to bring the game to 11-5, but Ithaca put it out of reach with two down the stretch. Armbruster scored on a DeCirce assist and Rivas tallied a free-position goal to finalize all scoring at 13-5.
