Zach Jacobsen (Frederick/Frederick, Md.) of the Ithaca College men’s soccer team has been named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for action taking place during the week that ended September 18, 2016.

Jacobsen helped guide the Bombers to two more shutout wins last week as Ithaca defeated Wells College and Stevens Institute of Technology, respectively.

Against Wells, the senior keeper made two saves before stopping five shots in a 1-0 Empire 8 win over the Ducks on Sunday.  Ithaca’s win over Stevens marked the first time the Ducks had suffered a loss in conference play since 2009.

On the season, Jacobsen has posted three shutouts and holds a 3-2-0 overall mark in goal.

Men’s soccer returns to the pitch at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday when they travel to Clinton to take on Hamilton in a non-conference bout.
