Junior Wes Davis (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Country Day) earned six wins in three matches as the Ithaca College men's tennis team swept three matches against Empire 8 foes to earn Ithaca College's Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 17, 2016.Â
With the three 9-0 wins over Nazareth, Alfred, and Houghton, Ithaca improved to 7-5 overall, 4-1 in Empire 8 play.
Davis won all three of his second singles matches, dropping only four games total in earning wins against Nazareth, Alfred, and Houghton. He also earned three wins at first doubles, partnering with sophomore Lorenzo Viguie-Ramos to earn three convincing wins while dropping only 12 games.
On the year, Davis is 9-3 in singles play and 6-6 in doubles play. The Bombers are currently half a game behind Stevens for first-place in the Empire 8.
Ithaca welcomes Hartwick College to the Wheeler Tennis Courts at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
