Taryn Cordani (Douglas/Douglas, Mass.) of the Ithaca College women’s cross country team has been named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for action taking place during the week that ended November 22, 2015.
Cordani earned All-American status after finishing 14th overall in the NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championship in Winneconne, Wisc. on Saturday.
Cordani ran a time of 21:36.30 on the 6K course, which topped her previous time at Lake Breeze in mid-October by nearly 20 seconds. She trailed the 13th place runner by just one-tenth of a second, and was only separated by 3.3 seconds from eighth overall in a field of 280 participants. This is the first year that Cordani has ever competed as a cross country runner as she became the 22nd All-American in school history.
