Joey Flanagan (Roy C. Ketchem/Poughkeepsie) of the Ithaca College men’s basketball team has been named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for action during the week that concluded November, 22, 2015.

Flanagan averaged 18.3 points as the Bombers picked up two more wins over the weekend after downing Bridgewater State and SUNY Cobleskill in the Cortaca Classic.
The sophomore guard scored a career-high 22 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the floor on Friday before capping the weekend with a 21-point performance against the Fighting Tigers on Saturday.  For his efforts, Flanagan was named the Classic’s Most Valuable Player.

The Poughkeepsie native currently ranks fifth in the Empire 8 in scoring at 18.8 points per game.

Flanagan and the rest of the men’s basketball team will play again at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1 when they host SUNY Cortland in Ben Light Gymnasium.
