ResultsPHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Ithaca College women's track & field team was represented Thursday and Friday at the 2014 Penn Relays at Franklin Field. Ithaca met eight ECAC qualifiers during the meet.
On Thursday, the Bombers competed in seven events hitting the ECAC standard in each. On the track, the team of sophomores
Lizzi Dowling and
Eliza Dewart, freshman
Rose Paskoff and sophomore
Sarah Werner raced to a 50.42 finish in the 4x100-meter relay. Later in the day, sophomore
Christine Kelly, junior
Leigh Martino, Dewart and rookie
Julia Jones teamed together to clock a 4:02.90 finish in the 4x400.
Individually on the track, Martino clocked a 1:05.22 finish in the 400 hurdles and junior
Alexa Rick crossed the finish line of the 10K in 36:37.29.
Three competed in field events on Thursday. Junior
Emilia Scheemaker had a 5.33-meter leap in the long jump, freshman
Brandy Smith had a 38.60-meter heave in the discus throw and senior
Elaine Abdulky had a toss of 46.81 meters in the hammer throw.
Scheemaker rounded out ECAC-good performances on Friday with an 11.34-meter finish in the triple jump. Ithaca's relay of Dowling, Dewart, junior
Alex Lewis and Kelly raced to a 1:44.92 finish in the 4x200 Friday. The 4x200 is not contested at the ECAC Outdoor Championships.
The Bombers return to action on Sunday, April 27 at Cornell's Big Red Invitational and the NYSCTC Multi Event Championship at RIT.
