ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's swimming and diving team cruised to a 206-90 win over Alfred Saturday afternoon, finishing first in 12-of-16 events.
The Bombers started off with a top spot in the 200-yard medley relay, as the team of
Grace Ayer,
Samantha Reilly,
Megan Zart and
Lake Duffy finished in a time of 1:52.26.
Ayer continued to pull in top finishes for the Bombers individually, earning first place in the 200-yard butterfly (2:12.85) and the 400-yard individual medley (4:38.26). Duffy also earned an individual first for Ithaca, pacing the field of 12 in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.95.
Brenna Dowd took first with a time of 11:11.38 in the 1000-yard freestyle, while
Megan Buisman earned the top spot in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:01.14.
Michelle Heidgerken finished first in the 100-yard breaststroke, finishing in a season best time of 1:14.59.
Miranda Wingfield took the top spot with a time of 2:25.15 in the 200-yard backstroke, while
Meredith Wells paced the field of six in the 200-yard breaststroke with a finishing time of 2:37.08.
Nickie Griesemer swept both diving events for the women, taking first in the 1-meter with a score of 275.65 and first in the 3-meter with a season-best score of 295.35. Her point total on the 3-meter also marked a new pool record.
Lyndsay Isaksen rounded out the top finishes for the women, taking first in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:01.89.
The Bombers are back in action on Sunday, Jan. 26 as the Ithaca Divers will compete in the Dick Comanzo Diving Invitational at the A&E Center Aquatics Pavilion. Events are set to start at 10 a.m.
