Women's XC Team to Make Program's 21st Trip to the NCAA Championship

HANOVER, Ind. – For the second straight season the Ithaca College women's cross country team earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Championships to be held on Saturday, Nov. 23 at Hanover. The Bombers placed sixth at the NCAA Atlantic Region Championships Saturday at Letchworth State Park.

Championship information can be found on the championship website.

The Bombers last competed as a team at the NCAA Championships a season ago finishing 30th overall. Ithaca has made 20 trips to the championship meet as a team, collecting 10 top-10 finishes. Twenty Bombers have earned individual all-America honors. Graduate studend Jenn Randall and junior Alexa Rick earned all-region honors to lead the Bombers at regionals. Randall clocked a career-best 6K time of 21:24.60 to place fourth out of 269 runners. Rick placed 35th in 22:37.00.

Thirty-two teams were selected to participate in each championship. The top two, seven-person teams automatically qualified from each of the eight regions, for a total of 16 teams. Sixteen additional teams were selected at-large.

Fifty-six individuals, the first seven athletes from each region who are not a part of a qualifying team, were selected to participate in each championship.
