RESULTS
ROCHESTER, N.Y.—The Ithaca College men's track & field team competed at the NYSCTC Indoor Championship on Friday, Feb. 27 at RIT's Gordon Field House. After day one of the championship, Ithaca is third overall in team scoring with 38.5 points out of 11 institutions.
The Bombers took first in the 4x200-meter relay with a time of 1:30.62. The relay team consisting of senior
Rashaad Barrett, juniors
Aaron Matthias and
Jordan Smith, and senior Kyle Mackinnon met ECAC requirements with their performance.
Junior
Stephen Gomez led the Bombers with a second place finish in the 5,000-meter run. Sophomore
Sean Phillips and freshman
Tim Chappell followed in fourth and fifth place. Gomez clocked a time of 15:21.06, while Phillips finished in 15:22.26 and Chappell in 15:29.45. Both Gomez and Phillips qualified for ECACs.

Brendan Davis met ECAC standards.
Junior
Aaron Matthias secured a fourth place finish in the long jump, reaching 6.79 meters to surpass ECAC-qualifying standards.
Barrett currently sits in second after the 60-meter dash prelims with an ECAC time of 6.93 seconds. Matthias is fourth in the 200-meter dash prelims in an ECAC-qualifying mark of 22.58 seconds, while Barrett is seventh at 22.88.
Freshman
Seth Abbott is eighth after the first day of the heptathlon with 2062 points, while sophomore
Andrew Ward is ninth with 1925 and classmate
Tyler Denn-Thiele is 10th with 1759.
Day Two of the NYSCTC Championships resumes tomorrow morning at 10 a.m.
