Box Score ITHACA, N.Y. – The 18th-ranked Ithaca College women's lacrosse team (12-6) suffered a 6-3 setback to 15th-ranked St. John Fisher (15-4) in the Empire 8 championship game Saturday afternoon at Higgins Stadium.

Jenna Marchinetti were named to the all-tournament team.
Fisher goalkeeper Nicole Hart was named the tournament MVP and Jill Zerrillo, Taylor Hughes, Marykate Edmunds and Logan Barnard joined her on the all-tourney team, as did Nazareth's Hanna Prince and Megan Tice and Stevens' Kathleen Kalbian and Kara Rafferty. Hart made 11 stops in goal for the Cardinals, highlighted by five key saves during the final five minutes of the game.
In the Empire 8 title game for the fifth straight season, Ithaca posted its lowest scoring output of the season. Ithaca last scored three or fewer goals in a 15-3 loss at third-ranked Hamilton on April 14, 2010. Fisher recorded its third consecutive Empire 8 conference crown.
The Cardinals held the Bombers scoreless during the first half en route to a 2-0 edge at the half. Sierra Badger scored the game's first goal on a free position shot just 55 seconds into action. The game was scoreless until she found the crosse of Jordan Johnson for a 2-0 gap at 10:37. Maintaining possession of the ball most of the first frame, Fisher outshot Ithaca 12-4.
Fisher's Hughes netted back-to-back scores early in the second half for a 4-0 gap, but Ithaca junior
Molly Fischer answered with a free position goal at 25:13. Over 11 scoreless minutes ticked off the clock before Hughes and Badger chipped in another two for a commanding 6-1 lead at 9:22.
Sophomore
Ally Runyon scored the Bombers' second free-position goal of the game at the eight-minute mark, but the Ithaca offense was stalled until Runyon found senior
Becky Guzzo for the game's final score with 44 seconds left on the clock.
Ithaca outshot St. John Fisher 14-8 in the latter half, but Fisher led the category for the game, 20-18. Each squad collected 15 ground balls. The Cardinals held a slight 6-5 advantage in draws.

Emily Ross took the loss in goal having made five stops. Guzzo had a game-high four ground balls and Fischer collected three. Sophomore
Riley Marion and junior
Natalie Lang won two draws each. Marion and Fischer both forced two turnovers.
The teams will follow the NCAA selection show Sunday evening at 9:30 p.m. to learn of first-round matchups.
