ResultsTROY, N.Y. – The Ithaca College women's track & field team placed third at the 2014 ECAC Outdoor Championships Friday at Rensselaer. The Bombers tallied 40 points over the course of the two-day meet, recording 10 total All-ECAC finishes, six of which came Friday. This is Ithaca's ninth top-three finish at the meet in program history. The Bombers have won the meet on six occasions.
Freshman
Brandy Smith rewrote a 14-year old shot put school record with a seventh-place heave of 12.93 meters. Erin Stevens held the record of 12.64 meters since April 8, 2000. Smith also flirted with her discus school record, earning silver in the event with a toss of 42.99 meters.

Harmony Graves raced to a runner-up finish of 48.34. Graves also placed fifth in the 200 dash with a 25.28 finish.

Colleen Vaughn clocked a 9:46.21 finish to place fifth.
Sophomore
Kristen Pompey placed eighth in the heptathlon with 3,669 points. She concluded the event with a 4.84-meter showing in the long jump, a throw of 31.27 meters in the javelin and a 2:58.96 finish in the 800 run. Her javelin toss was the third-best in the field of 15 participants.
The Bombers await the announcement of the NCAA field to be released on Sunday, May 18.
