Box Score ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College softball team fell to Rowan Sunday afternoon, dropping a 1-0 decision to the Profs in the sixth game of the NCAA Ithaca Regional. The loss marked the second defeat for Ithaca in the double elimination tournament, ending the Bombers' season. Ithaca finished the year with an overall record of 26-14. Rowan's victory advanced the Profs to the next round of the NCAA Tournament.

Sam Bender pitched the final game of the year for the Bombers, taking the loss to put her final record at 18-7 in the circle. Bender allowed just one earned run in the complete game effort. Junior

Kelly Robichaud all picked up hits in the defeat.
Rowan scored the only run of the day in the bottom of the third inning. With runners at second and third, the Profs grounded out to the first base side to score the winning run from third base.
Ithaca threatened a few times in the remaining innings, but was never able to cross home plate, giving Rowan the 1-0 win.
Three Bombers were named to the 2014 Ithaca Regional All-Tournament team, including Bender, Busa and Robichaud. Bender started all four games for Ithaca, going 2-2 with three complete games. Busa ranked second on the team with five hits in the regional, including the game winner against Penn State-Altoona. Robichaud paced the Bombers with a .545 batting average and six total bases.
Ithaca finished the year as Empire 8 Champions for the first time since 2012, and ninth time in the programs history. The Bombers had six players earn all-conference honors. Senior
Sydney Folk headlined the Ithaca selections, as she was named the Empire 8 Player of the Year for the second time in her career. Vincent, Bender and sophomore
Casey Gavin joined Folk on the Empire 8 First Team, while Busa and freshman
Jessie Fleck were honored with second team selections.
The Bombers also had three players earn all-region honors. Folk was named to the NFCA Northeast Region First Team, while Bender earned a spot on the second team and Gavin was named to the third team.
The loss marked the final game in the careers of seniors Bender, Folk, Vincent,
Rachel Dell'Orto and
Lisa Bates.
