ITHACA, N.Y. -- Ithaca College graduate student linebacker Will Carter was named Empire 8 Football Defensive Player of the Week following Ithaca's 23-0 win over Frostburg State. Carter earned the conference honor for the first time in his career.

Carter made a career-high 15 tackles including two sacks and three tackles for loss. Carter's efforts highlighted an excellent overall defensive performance for Ithaca, as the Bombers limited Frostburg State to 86 total yards (51 rushing, 35 passing. Frostburg State entered the game averaging 26.4 points per game and 415 yards per game.

The Bombers moved into the top 25 in the D3football.com national rankings and received the second-most votes of teams not ranked in the American Football Coaches Association Poll.
