2012 game-by-game statistics

2011: At the team’s postseason banquet Carter was announced as one of Ithaca’s captains for the 2012 season. Despite injuries that limited him to the final six games of the season, Carter ranked among Ithaca’s leaders in tackles. His 22 solo stops ranked fifth on the team and his 44 total tackles stood sixth. Carter made a season-best 12 stops – including a career-high seven solo tackles – against Alfred. That came in the midst of a three-game stretch that saw him average 8.7 total tackles (including four solo stops per game). Carter made six tackles against St. John Fisher in his return to the field and matched that total at Springfield and Utica. In the Springfield game, he collected five solo tackles (including one for loss) and forced a fumble on the Pride’s final drive that the Bombers recovered. | 2011 game-by-game statistics

2010: Carter started every game at inside linebacker and earned second-team Empire 8 all-star honors after recording a team-leading 79 tackles. He ranked second on the Bombers with 12 tackles for loss and he was the only Ithaca linebacker to intercept more than one pass. Carter’s first career interception came in the season-opening win over St. Lawrence. Making his first collegiate start, he made seven tackles. He collected a career-best 14 stops at Lycoming (where he collected his second interception). Carter made 10 tackles, including two for loss, in the Cortaca Jug game and added a pair of stops behind the line of scrimmage against Union, St. John Fisher and Utica. | 2010 game-by-game statistics

2009: Carter received Ithaca’s Marty Higgins Award, given to the program’s top junior varsity player. He earned a call-up to the varsity and made his debut in the win over #25 Alfred. He was named the Bombers’ Defensive Scout Team Player of the Week after the season-opening win at St. Lawrence.

High School: A 2009 graduate of Westlake High School, Carter was coached by Rich Hennesy. He earned all-section and all-state honors.

Personal: : A physical education and health education major, he is the son of Bill Carter.
