Men's Soccer Shuts Out Hamilton, 2-0

Box Score
ITHACA, N.Y. --The Ithaca College men's soccer team (2-7-0, 1-0-0 E8) defeated Hamilton Tuesday evening, dropping the Continentals by a score of 2-0 at Carp Wood Field. Junior Brandon Glass and freshman Alex Leone scored for the Bombers.

Junior goalkeeper Jordan Gentile got the start, stopping both shots he faced in the opening half to earn the victory. Sophomore Kenny Chapman played the entire second stanza, making two saves on two shots.

Ithaca's first goal came in the 22nd minute, as Glass was awarded a penalty kick after a foul in the box. The Hamilton goalkeeper made the initial save, but Glass collected his own rebound and cashed in for his first goal of the season.

After tight defensive play for the remainder of the contest, the Bombers collected a final insurance goal in the 89th minute to secure the win. Freshman Sean Forward avoided a Hamilton defender on the far side, eventually sending a pass across the box. Leone collected the pass and booted a shot into the open net for his first career goal. The win marks the Bombers' first non-conference victory of the season.

Ithaca's next game is a home contest against Elmira on Saturday, Oct. 12. The match is set to start at 1 p.m.
