SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Ithaca College sculling team competed at the Head of the Fish Regatta in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. on Saturday. The Bombers had a banner day, finishing first in the women's collegiate double final.
Ithaca had four teams compete in the race, all of which finished in the top half of the 17 entries. Julia Schaeffer and
Anna Schenk finished first, completing the course in an elapsed time of 15.00.53.
Megan Barry and
Dominique Lessard finished in a time of 16.04.65, earning a respectable fourth place finish.
In the women's collegiate quad final, Ithaca's top finisher took third place.
Kelly Parker (coxswain), Schaeffer, Schenk, Barry and Lessard completed the course in a time of 15.20.20, finishing just behind UMass (14.42.99) and Tufts (14.49.04) in the top spots.
In the master's final, Ithaca coaches
Beth Greene and
Becky Robinson finished first overall. The tandem completed the course in 14.37.45, finishing first among 23 entries.
Sculling concludes its season on Nov. 3 at the Small Boat Collegiate Championships. Held in Mercer, N.J., races start at 8 a.m. and run until 4 p.m.
