In 30 years as head coach of women's rowing at Ithaca College, Becky Robinson has led the Bombers to consistent medals at NY State Championship Regattas, 22 NCAA Championship appearances, and two NCAA Team Championship titles in 2004 and 2005. Under her guidance, the 2022-23 season saw Bombers capture their fifth-straight Liberty League Championship, they were crowned champions at the New York State Championship and also posted a bronze finish at the 2023 NCAA Championships in the Grand Final.
She was named CRCA Coach of the Year in 2001 and 2005. She maintains her designation as a CSCS and is a regular attendee and presenter at professional conferences.
Robinson has contributed to the development of several elite level athletes, including five-time US Rowing National teamer Mary Obidinski (’97), and two-time Olympic Gold Medalist Meg Musnicki (‘05). She coached Emily Morley (’16) in the 1x at the Americas Olympic Selection Regatta and the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, helping her become the first Bahamian athlete to represent her country in an Olympic Rowing event.
Robinson rowed for the Bombers from 1985-87, collecting the crew’s Women’s Achievement Award along the way. She went on to train at the elite level, earning a spot on the US National Team in 1991. She last competed internationally in 1993, and in 1995 was the first member of the crew program to be inducted into the Ithaca College Athletic Hall of Fame. She is a 1988 graduate of the Ithaca College Physical Therapy program.
