Men's Soccer Dominates In Shots, But Falls At Alfred, 1-0

ALFRED, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's soccer team (3-9-0, 2-2-0 E8) lost to Alfred Tuesday night, falling to the Saxons by a score of 1-0 at Yunevich Stadium. Sophomore Jordan Filipowich led the Bombers with four shots on goal. Junior goalkeeper Jordan Gentile stopped 2-of-3 shots in the loss.

After a scoreless first half, the Bombers dominated play. Ithaca recorded eight shots on goal in the second frame while holding the Saxons to just two shots on goal. The Bombers controlled the flow of the game for the majority of the second half, earning seven corner kicks while holding Alfred to zero.

Despite the numerous chances in Ithaca's favor, Alfred scored the lone goal of the contest in the 82nd minute to give the Saxons the 1-0 conference win.

The Bombers' next game is a home match against Cortland on Sunday, Oct. 27 at 2 p.m.
