ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Ithaca College men's soccer team (1-7-0, 1-0-0 E8) lost a tight defensive game to Hobart (5-4) Tuesday evening, falling to the Statesmen by a score of 1-0 at Carp Wood Field. Freshman Cobi Byrne led Ithaca with two shots on goal, while junior goalkeeper Jordan Gentile stopped three of the four shots he faced.

Hobart scored the game's only goal in the 24th minute, converting a one-time shot in the box for a 1-0 lead. The Bombers pressured in the second half, recording 11 total shots in the second frame.

Despite the added pressure, the Bombers were unable to get on the board in 90 minutes of play. Freshman Sean Forward, junior A.J. Wolfanger and junior Casey Williamson also recorded shots on goal.

Ithaca is back in action on Saturday, Oct. 5 in a road conference game against Alfred. The match is set to start at 6 p.m.Â
