AMHERST, Mass. -- The Ithaca sculling team competed Saturday at the Seven Sisters Sculling Head hosted by the University of Massachusetts and also included boats from Tufts. Approximately 80 boats competed in a number of races in a timed format.
Ithaca's B double of
Tessa VanDerVeeken at stroke and
Madison Vander Hill at bow placed first with a time of 16:56.6 and was followed in second place by the A double of
Rebecca Lee at stroke and
Rachel Mevissen at bow in 17:07.9. A third Bomber boat completed the 5,000-kilometer course in third place.
The Bomber coxed quad boat won that race with a time of 17:01.1 with a lineup of
Kelly Parker at coxswain with a quartet of Mevissen, Lee, VanDerVeeken and Vander Hill.
