Track & Field Teams Set to Begin Indoor Season

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's and women's track & field teams officially begin their 2022-23 season this Saturday, as the indoor portion gets underway at Cornell's Greg Page Relays. This Saturday's meet will be the only competition in 2022.

After the Greg Page Relays, Ithaca will be off until January 7, 2023, as the Bombers return to campus for their annual Alumni Celebration meet at 3:30 p.m.

The following weekend, IC officially gets into action with the TCNJ Invitational at The Armory in NYC. The Bombers will then host a quad meet with Brockport, Oneonta and TCNJ on January 21. After a road meet at the Nazareth Conference Challenge on January 28, Ithaca returns back to Glazer Arena for the Bomber Invitational on February 4-5.

IC will remain on the road for the rest of the indoor season as the Bombers travel to RIT and the Boston Valentine Invitational on February 10-11 and then head over the Cornell for the Marc DeNeault Invitational on February 18.

Championship season begins on February 24-25 at the Liberty League Championships hosted by RIT and the AARTFC Championships commence on March 4-5 back at The Armoy. The IC women won their fourth consecutive Liberty League indoor title last winter, while the men placed second.

National qualifiers will make the trip to Birmingham, Alabama on March 10-11 for the NCAA Division III Championships at the Birmingham Sportsplex.

The official Division III national rankings index will not be released until late January, but both IC teams should expect to crack the top 30 as each program brings back a load of talent.

The women's team placed third at the 2021-22 indoor championships, while the men placed sixth.

IC's women welcome back two-time national champion and four-time pole vault All-American Meghan Matheny, as well as four-time heptathlon All-American Logan Bruce. All-Americans Sara Altonen and Martha Kemp-Neilson also return this season.

The Bombers are also excited to welcome back Paloma De Monte, who was a national qualifier in the 800-meter run last winter. All-Region performers Lauren Lobdell and Rachel Rose will also represent IC this indoor season.

On the men's side, 60-meter dash national champion Jalen Leonard-Osbourne is back with the program, while five-time All-American Dom Mikula and All-Americans Nathaniel Oczkowski and Andy Frank also return for the Bombers.

A slew of All-Region performers are also back on the squad this year – Danny Jagoe, Conor Ryan, Justin Showstead and Alex Whatley.
