Chicago, Ill. – The women's basketball team (0-1) opened its season with a 73-54 loss to #28 Chapman in the first round of Chicago's Midway Classic. The Bombers will face Augsburg in Sunday's second round.

Junior guard #Katherine Bixby# (Germantown Friends/Philadelphia, Pa.) led the Bombers with 20 points. She added three steals. Junior guard Lindsay Brown (Immaculate/Danbury, Conn.) and sophomore forward Elissa Klie (Ramapo/Wyckoff, N.J.) – who was making her first career start – both pulled down a team-best five rebounds. Brown also led the team with three assists.
