Auburn, N.Y. -- Coach George Valesente won his 800th game has the Bomber's skipper as the baseball team (22-9) defeated Oswego (14-11) Wednesday, 12-6. Valesente, the winningest coach in Bomber history, is seventh on the Division III all-time wins list with 870.
Senior leftfielder Jeremy Peter (Thomas R. Proctor/Utica), junior third baseman Eric Ferguson (Columbia/East Greenbush) and senior first baseman Jason Friedman (Whitney Young/Chicago, Ill.) each had multi-hits games. Peters leads the team with 14 multi-hit games, followed by Ferguson with 13 and Friedman with 10.
Ferguson, who went 4-for-5 with one RBI and three runs scored, opened the scoring in the second when he crossed home plate thanks to a sacrifice fly by junior second baseman Todd Czerno (Columbia/Brainard). Ferguson was driven home in the fourth and sixth innings on singles by Friedman. Junior shortstop Josh Smith (Pulaski/Pulaski) scored along with Ferguson in the fourth, as did junior Shane Wolf (Lansing Freeville) in the sixth. Friedman went 3-for-4 with a season-high four RBIs.
Smith scored two more times in the game. In the fifth he scored on a single to right field by junior centerfielder Matt Samela (Staples/Westport, Conn.) and in the sixth on a single by Wolf, who went 1-for-2 and stole two bases.

Peters also scored three times in the game, along with going 3-for-5. He scored after Smith reached base in the fifth and seventh on a fielder's choice and an error. Peters scored in the sixth when Ferguson singled to center field.
Wolf not only had success in the batter's box, but also on the mound. He pitched six innings, striking out three to improve to 4-0 on the year. Seniors Matt Lavoie (Moses Brown/Providence, R.I.) and Ryan Mays (Clinton/Clinton) and sophomore Adam Brown (Greece Athena/Rochester) each pitched one inning. Brown whiffed three batters.
The Bombers will try and secure their eight-straight Empire 8 title with at least one victory during their doubleheader at Rochester Institute of Technology Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
