Swyers earned All-America honors after helping the volleyball team to the NCAA semifinals in 1994. A four-year starter, she set the school record for career kills and the single-season records for kills and kills per game. Swyers still ranks in Ithaca's all-time top 10 in kills (fourth with 1,659), aces (fifth with 221) and hitting percentage (.292). She was a four-time Empire Athletic Association all-star and the conference player of the year as a senior. A two-time all-region selection, Swyers earned first-team All-America honors (as well as third-team academic All-America recognition) in her final season.
