O'Donovan captained the football and baseball teams and won the Ben Light Award as the top male athlete in the class of 1999. As a quarterback he broke nearly every school passing record, finishing his career with 5,379 yards and 53 touchdowns in 32 games. He was a two-time Eastern College Athletic All-Conference all-star and earned academic All-America honors as a senior. In four years as a Bomber outfielder, O'Donovan batted .340 with 105 runs batted in and 51 stolen bases. The second Ithaca player to collect 200 career hits, he ranks eighth all-time with 144 runs scored.
