Matt Mees '80 competed in football and track and field. He was an All-American running back for Ithaca's football team, finishing his career as the program's career rushing leader (2,662 yards), despite a knee injury that sidelined him for half of his senior season - when the Bombers won their first national championship. Mees was named to the AP All-America team as a junior after running for 830 yards (Ithaca's second-highest single-season total). He currently ranks second in career rushing, ninth in career total offense (2,662 yards) and 15th in career scoring (114 points). As a sprinter with the track and field team, he earned all-conference honors with the 440-yard and mile relay teams.
