During her senior year in 2009-10 as a captain, Bixby was named WBCA Honorable Mention All-American, becoming just the second player in school history to be named All-American. That season, she averaged 15.2 points as the Bombers went 22-6 and qualified for the NCAA Division III Tournament. Bixby was also a three-time Empire 8 First-Team All-Conference selection during her time on South Hill.

She also played two seasons of lacrosse and recorded 44 ground balls, 28 draw controls and 24 caused turnovers in 29 games played.

Following graduation, Bixby pursued a career as a collegiate basketball coach and was the head coach at Dickinson from 2014-17 and Johns Hopkins from 2017-23, where she won more than 73-percent of her games.
