Joe Sottolano ’90 was the Most Outstanding Player at the 1988 World Series after leading the baseball team to the NCAA title; as a coach he has made three appearances in the NCAA Division I playoffs. Sottolano went 21-9 with a 3.25 ERA for the Bombers and was earned all-region honors as a junior. A two-time ECAC all-star, he was one of 36 players nation-wide invited to try out for Team USA in 1988. The head coach at the U.S. Military Academy since 2000, Sottolano has led Army to the only three NCAA playoff appearances in the program’s 117 years of competition.
