Cook, who missed his sophomore season with an injury, finished with 166 strikeouts (ranking third on Ithaca's career list at the time) in 157.1 innings and a 15-6 record. Ithaca reached the NCAA playoffs in each of his three seasons, winning the 1980 national championship and advancing to the College World Series in 1981.
