Don McVeigh ’83 was the first Bomber swimmer to record as many as six All-America finishes, despite spending just two years at Ithaca (he transferred to Ithaca after his sophomore year). He won a pair of state championships as a senior, placed third nationally in the 500-yard freestyle as a junior and senior and posted four other top-six finishes at nationals. McVeigh’s school record in the 500-yard freestyle stood for 22 years.
