The 1996 Ben Light Award winner as the top male athlete in the senior class, Colin Herlihy ’96 was a two-time national champion at the NCAA Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships. Herlihy won titles in the 100 and 200-yard breaststrokes and was named Swimmer of the Meet at the 1996 NCAA Championships. He set school records that still stand in both races and his 200-yard time broke a 22-year-old NCAA meet record. Herlihy also earned All-America honors in both events as a junior and was named Upstate New York State Collegiate Swimming Association Swimmer of the Year in 1995 and 1996.
